Avoid the first gen 5G phone. Not worth the money and it will operate in 4G in most of the time and areas in US. You will have much more choices on 5G phone next year with much less money //@anonymous:

Samsung depreciate too fast.
Next month it would be 50% off.

My smartphone is unlocked but when I called T-Mobile about it they said it was only GSM, not CDMA.
Is this common now to have an unlocked smartphone for both types carriers?

yes select phones work on both GSM and CDMA ( Like Motorola and few LGs)
T-Mobile & AT&T are GSM carriers. Sprint and Verizon are CDMA. //@Anonymous: My smartphone is unlocked but when I called T-Mobile about it they said it was only GSM, not CDMA.

I wouldn’t jump into the first gen 5G cellphone. Next year you have much more choices and lower price on the 5G cellphones. For now the 5G cellphones more likely will operate on the 4G systems in the US.

I purchased an s9 from BH at (at good price) and after 1 year I had a problem with the connector port. Long story short, after calls to samsung and BH I found out that the phone was build for the Ulkranian market and samsung (and authorized shops) would not touch it since the phone is not 100% the same (versus American market version). BH said that since it had passed the 1year warranty, I could not send it to them for repair. So I am left with a phone that can only charge with a wireless charger. Do some research and make sure this phone can be repaired in the US.

I don't know if this is a good deal, given S20 is out. These have been the prices on and off before the S20 released

If you are not in an urgent for a new phone then hang on. The economy is heading to an uncertainty direction. Affordable 5G phones are on the looming. These factors may drive price to lower point soon.

$600 is a decent price for S10. All phones should be priced below $500. Apple and Samsung are price gouging.
