I heard the same story before. Samsung do not return your trade-in phone even though it is denied.. //@anonymous: I have tried once, and I canceled the order because of the negative reports and my brief experience. Shortly: I ordered the new phone, accepted the trade in. My plan was to leave the box with the new phone intact until they verify the trade in. I would just return the unopened box with the new phone for full refund in case they deny it. Guess what: the box for mailing the “trade in” phone was conveniently delayed, and I would be outside the 15-day return period. No way I am doing a Samsung trade in. In addition, I have tried contacting Samsung costumer service twice for a different matter and each time I was on hold for more than 1 hr...

The S20 Ultra costs $1400 without tax, you just get up to $900 back, it is not Bogo free. Still have to pay 3k to get the phones.

i always believe Google Pixel is a game of BUY ONE (good android system) GET ONE FREE (shitty hardware). //@Anonymous: After using Notes for years, I was so glad to move to Pixel. You can't beat smooth software with best hardware and specs.

It is better than increasing version number without much improvement... //@Anonymous: did they just skip S11, S12, S13, S14, S15, S16, S17, S18, S19???

So why did you even click on this link? //@anonymous: My iphone 6s plus bought 4 years ago still runs very smoothly. Why try android?

Also Galaxy s10 5G as well as iphone 11 pro's BOMs are both around $500. So you see the price is actually reasonable when people want to buy the flagship phones.

Similarly, cars from BMW, AUDI, MB and more luxury brands has a BOM about 50% of the MSRP, i.e., 100% gross margin.

We always have the choose to choose a mid-tier phones or cars to enjoy a better price-to-performane ratio. //@anonymous: Where do you find the numbers of BOMs? //@Anonymous: People don't realize that the BOM (bill of materials) is very high for these flagship phones. Galaxy S10+'s BOM is $420. Galaxy S20 has a better display and will probably cost about $450 to make. If you factor in the R&D/Sales/Marketing/Logistics/warranty/return cost, Samsung probably needs to sell S20 (not +) at $750 ~ $800 to break even. //@anonymous: way too expensive. The price will drop sharply 1-2 months later.

Yeah - people make stuff up. I still have an S7 and receive security updates and the phone is fine. While I won't splurge for the S20, I might make the move to the S9 or 10. //@Anonymous: People don't realize that the BOM (bill of materials) is very high for these flagship phones. That’s why I love iPhone . You pay more . Camera is great . iOS updates are provided for few years //@anonymous: My issues with Sammy - 1)too much preinstalled bloatware, 2) no security updates beyond 2 yrs, 3) very late OS updates if you combine that with carrier checks and approvals 4) phone laggy within 1 to 1.5 yr of purchase.

Very true. They said I hadn't reset my phone to factory settings, but I did three times just to make sure everything was wiped out. //@anonymous: Samsung trade in program is a scam. They will decline your promo credit and keep the phone you sent! It's in the fine print! You've been warned

Last time I when I purchase S10, got my trade-in back after 5 months.
