just use officedepot for color printing. Much cheaper and easy. No need to worry about toner and printer malfunction.

Be aware the drivers for this are garbage. It constantly disconnects from your devices and you have to remove and reinstall to get it to print from the main tray again. Works fine as a wired printer though...

Have had it for a year now. Consistently disconnects. Basically the AirPrint feature works less than half the time.

Like other commenters have said, consistently disconnects and sleeps. Super annoying. Also, you can either have wireless on or wired. Both won't work together. You have to disconnect one for the other one to work.

I have this printer for a year and I want to throw it away. have a lot of trouble trying to print. it is the worst printer I ever have. stay away from Canon printers

I had it for a year now, had a lot of disconnection problem like said in other comments at the beginning. But after I updated the firmware, it has been working flawlessly ever since. for $200, a color printer with two side printing and scanner (one side scan only) and document feeder, really can't complain.

I have the 643 model, I believe. It's slower than my black only canon from years ago, same class of office printers/scanners. Also it lies about the remaining toner level. I've been printing occasionally on it for a year since it told me it's time to replace toner and everything came out just fine. I think Canon used to be great but now is just trying to get your money from toners all the time. A full set of Canon replacement toners for this line of printers cost 400 or more, FYI.

Yes. This is one of the best printer. I have been using for occasional printing from last 2 years. Third party cartridges should cost less than $50.

Go ebay for the toners. I found it significantly cheaper than amazon, even for the same brand.
