Do not use the Meat Slicer to cut hard frozen food or bones. The Meat Slicer may become overloaded and damage the blade. Do not use the Meat Slicer to cut jellylike or wet food. The jelly or the excessive juice may spread into the electrical components of the motor assembly and may lead to fire and electric shock, personal injury or death. Hope this helps. I bought this brand and type a few years ago, but not used it too much (totally should be less than 20 times). Last year it got broken when I was cutting frozen beef. Usually I could fix almost anything by myself, from toilet to car to computer, but for that slicer. I opened it up and saw the hard plastic gear was broken. I searched online but couldn't find any gear that fitted it. So finally I had to throw it away.
