As a matter of fact, it was the opposite! Amazon was the one you couldn't rely on. Most orders got canceled. Unethical price gouging. Super late delivery even with Prime... you name it!
Walmart was the one who helped us during the early stages of the pandemic. //@anonymous: To be fair, you relied on Amazon during pandemic. Only Amazon delivery were fully functional last year. I do not like it, but I understand why.

cancel the membership. it is ok to cancel because your membership will last until the date that you have paid. gift of prime does not have an expiration date. if you do not need prime membership anymore, you can exchange it for amazon gift card. set up a calendar reminder on the expiration date of your prime membership, so you can remember to use gift of prime to purchase another year. //@Alexoi: How do you cancel the auto renew? There is a Amazon warehouse in my city, so I always receive my items in 1-2 days with free shipping. I don't see much difference in terms of the speed.
