That is how T-mobile stores (independently run) work. Stores charge $30 activation fee for activation and upgrades (may waive if your buddy works there). And the phone is free to upgrade for qualifying accounts. I got 8 lines (they are free). I had the pixel 6pro and the non pro hated both. the finger print reader is the worst makes the phone unusable no face unlock , I took it back sticking with my one plus 7t. although the speech to text is so much better on the new pixel. //@Anonymous: Well, got this phone at Thanksgiving sale.
