To me, the taste of expired coffee beans will also differ from the ground and among different brands. Although Starbucks is not of the best quality, it's a good choice "when the price is sweet." //@Anonymous: If you care about the quality of your coffee, you don't buy about-to-expire beans.
If you don't really care the quality, or can't really tell, you are better off buying ground anyways since it's still cheaper.
