I got one last year. It works but the quality is pretty bad and has a lot of eye strain. I stopped using it and prefer a regular external monitor.

Good point. Honestly, I always just get the highest priced Apple products available. Otherwise I'm sure I would just end up worrying that someone else has a better, higher-end one than I got. Used it for a while already and there is no thermal throttle issue like the 14” version. It is horrible to install modules in Apple ml to do ML/DL. for example, still don't know how to install pytorch, don't know how to install hdf5 and so on. Don't buy at this moment.

not really. Just use Rosetta for intel applications. The performance is not too shabby compared to newer intel CPUs.
