Only if you are within range. You can buy longer range but cheaper options online. This is just an apple brand tag and triple the cost. //@andromeda3: Useful for tracking your baggage, your expensive bike/ebike , your wallet/purse/hand bag/backpack or your dog

I personally think apple tags are useless for all practical purposes. It is at best works if it is in the same room as your phone. You move to a different location with as minimum as with 2-3 walls it does not work. It means that it will not work when it is in a bag you want to track and it got stolen. //@andromeda3: Useful for tracking your baggage, your expensive bike/ebike , your wallet/purse/hand bag/backpack or your dog

To those people who think AirTags only work when they are connected to "your" iPhone, that is not the case. AirTags connect to any phone nearby and you can find your stuff from anywhere far using your Find My app.

Can people steal your bag and turn off your airtag? Can they reset the airtag so that you can't track it any more? //@andromeda3: Useful for tracking your baggage, your expensive bike/ebike , your wallet/purse/hand bag/backpack or your dog

Interesting, how far you located it? I am not sure if you ever have it. Your receptor reports last static ordinates whenever it was within the range. Thats it, dont make jokes!! //@anonymous: To those people who think AirTags only work when they are connected to "your" iPhone, that is not the case.
