My gripe with the latest MBPs are Apple's strategy of soldering RAM and SSD to the motherboard thus making upgrades impossible. I understand this is a way to make more money upfront, but leads to customer dissatisfaction.

1), M1 is super fast with no heat. 2), Mac is very efficient in using memory. I am a programmer converted from PC to MAC ~ 10 years ago, never look back. Of course, I bought a MacBook Pro, but I got a M1 MacBook Air for my son, he is very happy about it.

Previous gen M1 processors are a better value and should be more than sufficient for 70-80% of all users. If anything, Apple has bad marketing. No professional user is going to buy the MB with low specs, and no average user is going to spend $1.2K+ on it either. They should have significantly lowered the price, or not have an option with 8GB RAM/256GB storage.

I bought the 3850 version from costco. Printing office document was fine, but whenever I used it to print flyers or any doc with images, they are so grainy! Not presentable. Messed around with the settings, nothing was able to solve the problem. I am returning it.
