Technology always advance at steady speed because of competition. With trade war and covid, sellers no longer competing. They can still jack up the price on ancient monitors instead of slashing prices. While they can make good money on these junks, there is no need to create new products. You knew nothing about technology so I don’t know how much longer you can stay in this business. //@anonymous: What are you talking about? None of what you said makes any sense coming from someone that has global supplier and manufacturing industry experience. What you feel a price should be doesn’t mean any other higher price is price gouging. //@anonymous: I bought 2 of these for $109 a while back. Trade war and covid are stalling competition and setting technology backwards. If it wasn’t for trade war and covid, this monitor would be sold for $79 nowadays and much better monitors would be available for $119. Now is too easy for manufacturers to make money with junks like this so there’s no need to compete or innovate.

7200 rpm for a NAS drive, which WD Red is technically designed for, is almost an oxymoron. Unless you are on 2.5 Gbps setup, a 5400 rpm drive will effectively use up all the network bandwidth on sustained read/write. If you care about burst read/write speed, then why bother with a HDD on the first place.

Setup a free KMS server(open sourced, you can run it in docker), and activate your copy of Windows with M$ purposely 'leaked' volume keys, you get a full functioning Windows for free(need to reactivate it automatically against the KMS server every 120 days). Don't feel guilty, you trade your privacy with the free use (as long as you don't use it for commercial purpose), M$ knows it, and allows it. M$ wants your big data.

True. Mine kept blocking the ink if I don't use it often. The color becomes pink so I have to do power cleaning which wastes a lot of ink. This printer starts having issues after 1.5 years. Old HP printers lasted longer than 5 years+ //@Anonymous: need to often print to prevent ink from drying so that block the printer's head. //@Anonymous: I have this, it's pretty crappy printer. It's just a test, people. To HELP people...the helpful people and the unhelpful people. It's to help you know if it is covid or just a cold while you're home...before you drive to get a pcr test to confirm it. If one believes the study (which one should), then let’s understand and believe it in it’s entirety. The study says that SENSITIVITY of BINAX NOW tests is HIGH.
Specifically, the SENSITIVITY when compared to a culture test (where virus is grown from the sample and is a much better but more time-consuming than even RT-PCR test) was HIGH (> 70%) and the Positive and Negative PREDICTIVE values were high (ie test is valuable - 100%, 92.7% respectively) even for asymptomatic cases INCLUDING for those that developed symptoms within 7 days of testing.
See “ For participants who were within 7 days of symptom onset, the BinaxNOW antigen test sensitivity was 71.1% (95% CI = 63.0%–78.4%), specificity was 100% (95% CI = 99.3%–100%), PPV was 100% (95% CI = 96.4%–100%), and NPV was 92.7% (95% CI = 90.2%–94.7%).”
The paper further advocates use of serial testing to tighten above based on additional factors - eg negative tests in high-risk environments should be confirmed with serial / confirmatory tests. It also recommends continued use of precautions as far as possible - distancing, masking, isolation even for those testing negative to mitigate personal and community transmission risk.
The tests are valuable when access to more accurate tests is challenged (like now) due to many reasons including stress on more accurate lab testing personnel and equipment. //@anonymous: You should READ the study, specifically the CDC one. In that study one of the things they test is is people who TESTED POSITIVE from the PCR test (which they confirmed with a second), and this kit STILL returned false negatives. And as I quoted directly, terrible sensitivity especially for asympomatic cases. So to summarize, even people whom we KNOW to have the virus, STILL tested falsely using these test kits. //@Anonymous: It's just a test, people. To HELP people...the helpful people and the unhelpful people. It's to help you know if it is covid or just a cold while you're home...before you drive to get a pcr test to confirm it. It will show positive if a person is infectious, ie there are enough virus in the body to infect others. Person is just infected and virus is cooking inside, there may not be enough antigen to show up. But PCR will. This test will help a person to know if he/she is infectious and stop spreading.
