Previous gen M1 processors are a better value and should be more than sufficient for 70-80% of all users. If anything, Apple has bad marketing. No professional user is going to buy the MB with low specs, and no average user is going to spend $1.2K+ on it either. They should have significantly lowered the price, or not have an option with 8GB RAM/256GB storage.

i bought three 4tb and two 2tb of them as a photographer, i fill them on a daily basis....2tb are dead, didnt even make it 6 months, before files went missing or corrupt. two of the 4tb developed same issues just took 9-10 months....sandisk replaced them all, and i sold the new ones they sent me. changed over to a usb-c nvme enclosure and nvme drives, no issues. //@Anonymous: Just because most people bought 2TB version. Good point. Honestly, I always just get the highest priced Apple products available. Otherwise I'm sure I would just end up worrying that someone else has a better, higher-end one than I got.
