Good reasoning, but the difference between 720 and 1080 is big and real--speaking from experience here. //@anonymous: Most of Youtube channels are 720P for HD and nature support of 720P is already called HD projectors for up to 100” screens. There is no practical use for 1080 CAM. Even Zoom only supports 720P with high selective cases for 1080p (event broadcasts).

7200 rpm for a NAS drive, which WD Red is technically designed for, is almost an oxymoron. Unless you are on 2.5 Gbps setup, a 5400 rpm drive will effectively use up all the network bandwidth on sustained read/write. If you care about burst read/write speed, then why bother with a HDD on the first place.

You have lot more to worry than this small device.. More over it has slide to block the camera and also disable audio... Every other device you use does same thing that they are never got into limelight like facebook... //@anonymous: It's convenient to make video calls on big screens. Much better experience than on the phone or a pad. Good price.

Make sure you buy a hard case for this. The nib breaks pretty easily if you're not careful and stuffing it into a backpack.

Actually this camera is pretty good and we used it to record video for auditions although we used condenser mic for audio. Casting directors have no problem with the quality of video and audio.

Don’t the connectors on these break or developed issues very easily? I have a 4TB version that doesn’t get recognized unless the cable is held at a very specific angle and pressure.
