With the M4 chip, Apple set the machine base memory is 16GB - no more 8GB. Something is about to change in the next few years that caused Apple to make that decision.
Apple machine is not cheap. You may have spend above $1K to buy a machine that can be crippled/excluded to future updates because of the hardware limitation. And there is no way to upgrade the memory, storage to bigger capacity on a Mac If you definitely have to buy a Mac, get the 16 GB memory.

8GB is not enough. It is very possible in the next 2-3 years Apple will not allow iOS update due to not enough memory .

Here is the comment from XDA.

By setting the minimum memory requirement for Predictive Code Completion higher than what base-model Macs offer now, Apple is effectively admitting that 8GB isn't really enough. Even if it is enough for today, it certainly won't be enough for much longer.

1), M1 is super fast with no heat. 2), Mac is very efficient in using memory. I am a programmer converted from PC to MAC ~ 10 years ago, never look back. Of course, I bought a MacBook Pro, but I got a M1 MacBook Air for my son, he is very happy about it.

Previous gen M1 processors are a better value and should be more than sufficient for 70-80% of all users. If anything, Apple has bad marketing. No professional user is going to buy the MB with low specs, and no average user is going to spend $1.2K+ on it either. They should have significantly lowered the price, or not have an option with 8GB RAM/256GB storage.

Different cars have different gas tank size because they have different MPGs. But a full tank of gas will let you drive similar distances with different cars (excluding hybrids). Bought an ultra 4802X before the holidays. Worked well with my older, 720p TV, but for only a few weeks. Roku 4802x decided to do a software update in Dec and no longer support 720p TVs. Video had sound, but screen is black / blank. Called Roku customer support, they asked me to get a new TV that "supports" Roku! I was furious. I thought many people bought the Roku to support their TVs. I didn't realize that it was the other way around.

Roku devices do not have built-in storage or a DVR feature.
You can utilize some streaming services’ cloud DVR to save TV shows and movies.

Actually this camera is pretty good and we used it to record video for auditions although we used condenser mic for audio. Casting directors have no problem with the quality of video and audio.
