If 256G was not a single module like M1 Air, this is a great choice, but since it is not, go either m1 air or m1 pro, depending on your needs. I got both, one for my daughter and one for me, and yes, I tried M2 256G and M2 512G, but the former is slow, the latter is too expensive compared to its capability.

It's the same exact kit but it comes in box #92176 not 21309. They retired 21309 and then surprisingly brought it back with a new kit number.
21309 will be the collectible one, one day.
