I bought one for my son. It’s ok. You need to cancel the top up option cost you $5 and you will not be charged anymore. The text and phone reception is not steady but they have free 100 mins for international service which is great.

I bought my first FreedomPop phone for my son. He was only 9 years old so I really didn’t want to spend much on a phone for him. This way, if he lost it, it wouldn’t be a big deal. It would also be a great way to give him a phone to use when he is out and about and learn how to be responsible for something like this before he reaches his teen years. In two years, he only lost is twice, but after he lost the second one, we found the first one. LOL. The service has been good, but not awesome. Good enough for a casual user.

It would be great if FP could make the "account balance required for downgrading" notice more remarkable. //@anonymous: Oh Gosh company has been fueling my personal business for years. I have purchased 20 cell phones for my sales staff. Key is just go in your Interface and downgrade to free plan if you want to. I suspect the haters on this thread are illiterate.
