when should I downgrade/cancel non-free service, after placing the order or after receiving the SIM kit? thanks.

By anonymous on 01/25/2017, 11:38pm
Be careful!!! When you turn off the auto top up at step 3, Read your choices 3 times. They will ask you to add $5 to your account and charge you $5 instantly if you do not pay attention.

By anonymous on 04/13/2016, 05:38pm
I've been using the service for a year and I have never been charged. Granted their client still needs work, they are delivering as advertised. It's unfortunately not many people read carefully enough to switch plans. I was able to switch everything online and disable auto-top up. You get signed up for a paid plan at first, but FP does not do anything to stop you or convince you to change to a lower tier plan. That's reasonable that you have to do it yourself.

By anonymous on 09/29/2014, 09:14pm
i've bought 3 and it works fine

By anonymous on 09/29/2014, 08:50pm
the unit is *not* free. it costs 29.99+tax

By anonymous on 09/29/2014, 08:57am
the company is cheating. after you downgrade to free plan. they would change it back to a discounted fee based plan. And you cannot change it back to free. Actually they will charge your credit card first. And each time you call, it is at least 1 hour hold time.

By anonymous on 09/26/2014, 07:55am
This is really cool as this is 100% free. You have to call them to cancel any additional paid services that this device comes with. I have both free data 500MB month and also free 200 mins every month. Great but this phone sucks as it gets discharged within 2 hours.

Followed steps 1 3 4,not sure how to follow step 2, probably because the data limit is 500 MB. After doing these steps, my voice plan is still unlimited for $10.99 per month, which confuses me. Maybe it will downgrade automatically after the first trial month? Does anybody have suggestions?

By anonymous on 08/28/2014, 09:57am
I like dealsea. Please do not post this kind of items anymore...

By anonymous on 08/28/2014, 08:54am
Tell ya - NO free lunch in the whole world.

Do NOT waste your time to get anything for free. Spending those time to make more money.

By anonymous on 07/30/2014, 10:01pm
Very small print on the bottom right corner! Took me awhile to see it

By anonymous on 07/30/2014, 04:48pm
I don't see deactivate on the premium servies page. can some one help? Thanks.

By anonymous on 07/29/2014, 01:39pm
great deal. it is truely for people who can read and follow instructions. remember, it is a company who need to make money hense all this restrictions... etc.

By anonymous on 07/29/2014, 01:32pm
also, remember to turn off auto top off. otherwise, they will automatically precharge your account for extra data once u hit 400mb usage.

By anonymous on 07/29/2014, 01:25pm
yes, be sure to downgrade your plan to the basic free 500MB/mth plan. I have been using it free of charge ever since.

By anonymous on 07/29/2014, 01:20pm
freedompoop is a notorious company...

By anonymous on 07/29/2014, 09:24am
beware, if you don't use it for 1 month, they charge you $0.99 automatically. So you have to keep using it every month.

By anonymous on 07/29/2014, 08:08am
I could turn off the premier service. Do I also need to turn off the Premium Data Plan? looks like there will be a $19.99 monthly charge for the data plan.

By anonymous on 07/29/2014, 01:59am
It tooks 2 weeks for my device to arrive, once i received it, I disabled both auto top off and the premier service. The service is spotty but it did help me get connected several times. Its been 3 months and it is still free. No complain.

By anonymous on 07/29/2014, 12:30am
This carrier is awful. I bought a cell phone and received it after 3 months. The phone was not even working properly. I returned it.

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 10:35pm
Got trick with some charges by freedompop when I signed up over a years ago, i think it was like $3 or $4... learned my lesson, canelled all the extra and I've been using it free of charge for over a year! The only concern i have is that sprint is shuting down the wimax 4g service at the end of 2015, and i dont want to pay for the expensive 4g lte device!

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 10:00pm
I guess not many out there can follow instructions! Been using freedompop for over 7 months! Completely free of charge!

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 09:54pm
I was going to get this but your comments have scared from away. Thanks to those who took one for the team

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 09:37pm
this is not a deal at all.

I don't understand why dealsea posted it here!

Please DO NOT mislead us!

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 07:16pm
They sent me the device three weeks later and started to charge me 24.99 one week after I got it and another 24.99 for initiation fees. I argued and they asked to send the device back and took me three calls to get money back.

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 05:07pm
LMAO, freedom pop?? More like freedom poop!

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 04:38pm
They charged me 24.99+10.99. No free.

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 03:57pm
Don't be fooled by them

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 03:55pm
They Charged me 29.92 as initial signup. There is no free service.

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 03:45pm
I got charged $24.99, too. I placed the order on 6/15. Freedompop sent me the login id and pwd on 7/15, and I followed the instruction and cancelled premier service, Auto Top-up, and 3rd party email contacts, immediately.

Then a charge from freedompop displayed on my credit card on 7/16!

I don't want the free lunch any more. Please give my money back, Freedompop!

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 03:35pm
I had my doubt before, but as long as u follow the instructions and disable everything, it i really free and i does work in most large cities. The trick is to following all instructions. I've using it for over 4 month totally free! Great deal!

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 03:04pm
The service is okay but not great. The connection usually starts to have issues when you reach 400M of the 500M free data. Anyway it's free so cannot complain

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 02:57pm
dealsea, you are scamming people

By anonymous on 07/28/2014, 02:40pm
It is a scam! They still charge me monthly fees after I canceled it several times. I have to dispute it through my Chase credit card, then they finally canceled my service.

By anonymous on 06/17/2014, 11:04pm
I followed all the step, but they still charged me $24.99. Does anyone have the same situation?

By anonymous on 06/16/2014, 07:43pm
The price seems to have gone up to $49.99 and no more free shipping....

By anonymous on 06/16/2014, 05:52pm
Nothing really free but this is. You only pay for device and get 500mb each month. Good for emailing and some surfing.

By anonymous on 06/16/2014, 03:14pm
For $3 a month i get 500mb data and it works great for me. I take it with me while travelling on road and have not had trouble.

By anonymous on 06/16/2014, 01:14pm
I have several devices from FreedomPop and they all work great in my area. I bought one for my dad and he's on the free plan which is great for him since he emails. I upgraded and I'm paying less than $18 a month so I dumped my carrier. The only thing you need to check is their coverage map before you buy it. Seriously don't believe the liars and trolls. Here's a company that's really trying to stick it to the big telco carriers. You will be applauding them as I have.

By anonymous on 06/16/2014, 08:40am
Have cellphone & service from FP for about 8 months - no issues. In 4 1.

By anonymous on 06/15/2014, 11:29am
There are many customer service complaints for Freedom Pop. Just watch out and be sure you know. You dont want to be stressed out later fighting with these guys to get your money back.

By anonymous on 06/15/2014, 02:06am
Ordered 10, thanks dealsea

By anonymous on 06/15/2014, 01:08am
I was able to complete all these. Let's see if i get the device and if i can use it -:)

By anonymous on 06/15/2014, 12:19am
