I have bought no less than 30 pairs of ecco shoes before, some for myself and some for friends and relatives overseas. More than once, both myself and my relatives encountered the soles of shoes that had only worn a few times falling off like dried mud. Ecco once said it was a problem with the newest environmentally friendly material technology, and they replaced it with a pair of shoes of similar price. But they stopped doing that, and only provides 1 year of limited warranty. They also closed the telephone customer service, and almost no email inquiries are responded. A pair of shoes that cost $2,300 may only last about 2 years. It feels to me as if Ecco is learning from the iPhone and needs to be replaced every year.
