These tests are why the case numbers are down. People use the take home test, test positive, and never reported it. Do not let the reported case number fool you.

Went to get my booster shot at a pharmacy inside a grocery store. Pharmacist gave me 4 test kit boxes for free saying my insurance covered them. Said to come back next month and pick up more test kit as the insurance will cover them every month. Maybe you guys can give this a try?

There are multiple issues with just going to CVS and getting the test done.
1. You need appointment which you may not be able to get in time
2. You will provide sample to CVS which goes to a lab for testing. You may not receive the result if the test was not handled properly which happens a lot more than you imagine
3. You will receive the result in 24 hrs if the lab is not too busy. Otherwise you are looking at around 72hrs.
4. After all this, everything depends on the Lab guy who is performing the test

By all this time, you may have spread COVID to N number of people around you
