I love how the watch face is almost a square but not quite. How did Apple's genius engineers pull that off?

temperature monitor is useful if you get infection or covid, your watch will tell you if you have fever. Never having to use a thermometer again. That's a relief. Now if watch can also measure blood pressure and blood glucose. May be watch 9 and 10.

Given that it is just a couple weeks away from BF, I'd just wait, and perhaps wait till the end of the year. If the sales don't go well on BF, there will be further discount. I am on my AW series 3 lol //@hanwuji319: early buy early enjoy, late buy enjoy discount //@Anonymous: By Black Friday will be $400.

Apple no longer sells to the low income market. Not surprising to hear people complain that they can't afford it. But if you can afford it, it's an incredible value.

Ram is so cheap these days but still Apple sells a premium price laptop with only 8GB. And that is suppose to be a deal.

True, you basically have to spend 1600+ or else you are buying subpar equipment that will fail in 3 years //@anonymous: Apple no longer sells to the low income market. Not surprising to hear people complain that they can't afford it. But if you can afford it, it's an incredible value.

Now, as you know, apple chips are not getting much better, partly because of lack of good engineers and the slow improvement over the 3/4nm node. So... getting M1 pro instead may be a better idea.
Anonymous
Previous gen M1 processors are a better value and should be more than sufficient for 70-80% of all users. If anything, Apple has bad marketing. No professional user is going to buy the MB with low specs, and no average user is going to spend $1.2K+ on it either. They should have significantly lowered the price, or not have an option with 8GB RAM/256GB storage.

1), M1 is super fast with no heat. 2), Mac is very efficient in using memory. I am a programmer converted from PC to MAC ~ 10 years ago, never look back. Of course, I bought a MacBook Pro, but I got a M1 MacBook Air for my son, he is very happy about it.

Ram doesn’t make the computers run faster. It makes you open more programs at once. The cpu clock makes the computer runs faster. ( i7 12700 has 5ghz clock, it makes the computer run faster than i5 cpu) You need to understand the basic functions first. //@anonymous: Ram is ram, built-in make it faster but that doesn’t make it larger //@anonymous: With M processors RAM is IN the M2 processor. Not entirely true. When you run out of ram, which is relatively easy to do with only 8gb,the computer is forced to use swap space which is basically your ssd drive. Swapping memory pages in and out of disk is slow. I'd much rather have a slightly slower cpu with more memory. //@anonymous: Ram doesn’t make the computers run faster. Your computer RAM is essentially short term memory where data is stored as the processor needs it. This isn't to be confused with long-term data that's stored on your hard drive, which stays there even when your computer is turned off.(info wouldn’t stay the your ram, the temporally memory pages are always on your SSD.) //@anonymous: Not entirely true. My local Costco still has the same but with RTX 3060 (12GB) and i7-12700, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD + 1T HDD, for $799.99. Is it a better deal for the $100 difference?

I have a 3060, it's massively better than a 3050. i5/i7 probably doesn't matter much for either card. //@Anonymous: My local Costco still has the same but with RTX 3060 (12GB) and i7-12700, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD + 1T HDD, for $799.99. Is it a better deal for the $100 difference?

i7 is about 60% faster and cost $100+ more.
8GB of RAM cost $20 more (and you definitely want to add)
3060 is about 30% faster and usually costs $60 more.
Why can't I find one like you have? //@Anonymous: My local Costco still has the same but with RTX 3060 (12GB) and i7-12700, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD + 1T HDD, for $799.99. Is it a better deal for the $100 difference?
