Why courses are always on discount? Has anyone ever bought a $200 course?

I purchased a course years ago at $99 when Udemy was new and they were not offering these never ending promos. No regrets though, got a job from what I learned.
But now I just wait a couple of days, it there is no active promos on a day I intent to buy a course.

you should give yourself a pat on your shoulder for that great investment. As I heard, people should spend 10% of their income on their education/improvement, which should be a continuous lifetime process. //@Anonymous: I purchased a course years ago at $99 when Udemy was new and they were not offering these never ending promos. for a course, if you find it useful and really learn something, then it is a deal even if it costs you $100. If you don't learn anything, then it is not a deal even it is only 10 cents.
In my opinion, whether it is a deal is totally up to yourself. //@Anonymous: Not a deal

no worries. nowadays learn as needed. just keep them in case you need to learn them one day, just like textbooks or toolbooks.

If no project on hands, however you learn does not matter, it won't help.
Anonymous
This is true to a certain degree. However if you don't learn new technologies on your own initiative outside of your current project, the chance that you will ever do something new is slim. When you learn something new even if you don't have a practical or real work experience with it, at least you can talk the talk and appear knowledgeable to someone (like your boss or your boss's boss) who could put you on new project. //@Anonymous: If no project on hands, however you learn does not matter, it won't help.
