For less than $4, I recommend checking it out before seeing a doctor, specialist or not. Thirty years ago, I had a bad case - the closest I've ever experienced as a "headache", (except the pain was in the inner ear). Went to see my regular physician and getting no relief, just more severe pain when she tried to "flush it out" (to no avail). In the end, a nurse at work gave me some debrox - I could actually hear the sizzle while the hardened earwax disintegrated. I am an instant convert. So, try this first, then see your doctor if you still need to.
