true,not everybody has more than 7500 federal tax obligation to enjoy the full tax credit. You need to earn more than 68K single or 95K family after all the deductibles (401k, insurance, etc). In some states, sales tax is waived on EV. That can add to the equation on saving + some states has individual incentive as well.
For example in NJ, no sale tax and $2000 credit for EV. That make it to more reasonable price. You've gotten unlucky or have a old model. I know atleast 50-60 people who have 2021 or newer. Very minor issues and road noise is way better due to double insulated windows.
