After gauging the price using supply chain issue, the price is going down because too many inventories. $100 would be a good deal.

Does Brother have good customer service? And are the toner replacements reasonably priced?

i have an older version of this printer - bought in 2012. the automatic tray is broken (so i have to hand feed paper) but it's still working "well". i replaced the toner with secondary market one for about 10 bucks a few years ago. //@Anonymous: Does Brother have good customer service? Office Depot and Staples have this printer on sale a few times a year. Never paid more than $89 for one, and I used these in my tax office for years. Good printer, and, as mentioned, good, cheap third party cartridges available. HOT TIP....You can get an easy extra 1000 pages by covering the clear window on the cartridge. //@Anonymous: Was $79 dollars in July.

You only need to do the tape covering when using OEM toner. (That's how manufacturers get ya to buy more before needed)
