Dell, which just furloughed half of its Texas-based work force, ships their laptops now by "Fed Ex" ground-independent contractors. They don't require signatures for boxes clearly marked laptop computers and the last one I ordered from a deal was stolen-in-transit. Dell support is in India and they don't speak English and wouldn't make good on the stolen laptop... sticking me with the cost.
