Let me tell my story with Tracfone and total wireless (they are the same company.) I bought four phones over the winter, I ended up 1) returning two phones, 2) contacting the service for the remaining two for hours in order the get them to work properly. If you love your life, stay away from a low-quality service provider like them. //@Anonymous: where does it say it is an 1 year plan?

I think RedPocket via eBay has better offer if you are looking for something as a backup plan. Check the $2.50/Mo Red Pocket Prepaid Plan for 360 days.

cheap people use cheap products. That makes sense. //@Anonymous: Let me tell my story with Tracfone and total wireless (they are the same company.) Let me tell 'you' a story. In nearly two decades of using Trac I've had one issue that required a ~30 minute phone call. After some minor frustration, I had a working phone that suited my needs for four years. Which was especially good when I was on a tight budget and needed to follow the 'save where you can' protocol. Apparently many other customers agree, and that's presumably one reason Verizon thought it was worth buying out.
