I have both. For the most part (90%) They offer identical or interchangeable items. I am too poor for this. I waited years for the iPad mini to get back to $200 at target and finally gave up. I got the stupid Lenovo 8 inch. 3gb ram and 1080 screen, and takes micro SD. It's very slow but I paid like $115 with tax. Makes a good reader.

Go look it up. Better resolution (in ppi), better face camera, higher memory capacities, and lighter weight all in mini.
