U pay for the speed and stability... just like u buy a flagship phone vs. a cheap Chinese phone. The extra cost save u less hassle, longer use of it. I have the first version of this and still work smoothly & snappy.

Don't buy, mine just started making strange noises and smoking after light use and 8-years. Their warranty is for 7-years. Hope to get Costco to step in. It's not as indestructible as the old "Will it blend?" videos. I think Vitamix blenders have better build quality anyway.
