I think HP LaserJet Pro M283cdw is better. Costco has it with 299 after 100 discount. Last thanksgiving they give $150 off.

I’ve had this printer at my business for about 2.5 years now, about 5 teams a month. Toner is relatively cheap and the monochrome helps a lot since color printers these days won’t work with out all cartridge not empty.

for all these years all the businesses I worked in and visited, the printers were HP, Cannon, Epson. Never saw a single Brothers printer in any business. Why people here say Brothers printer is better?

It depends on what you use it for. For large company that demands heavy duty printers with long term support, you go for the Cannon/HP/Epson. For small scale office or home use, Brothers is arguably more suitable. I was a HP printer lover and did not buy anything else. They used to be great printers. My wife has a brother MFC at her office. Great work horse. Brother printer is cheap, but not very good quality. For home office usage and kids course study, maybe it is enough. My Brother printer now can only use the manual paper feed because one plastic component is broken after 7 years. Not worthy to repair. Will replace this printer once the ink is out.

Have you tried looking into their HP Instant Ink plan? I pay $3.99 a month for 50 pages, even photo pages. Unused pages roll over and when your printer is low on ink, they ship you a cartridge, free shipping. //@anonymous: don't buy, HP currently only accept HP's ink, which is expensive and not affordable.

Especially OEM, off brand is a hit or miss, most often miss since it breaks easily or produces poorer quality. Don't forget the standard consumables like rollers. //@anonymous: Cartrdiges are really expensive for all laser color printers
