Although it says ‘State’, that does not include e-filing. So, you’ll end up paying up more later.

If you bought two days ago with the same price, but no $10 credit, just chat with customer service, they will issue $10 promotion credits.

True. But that's the case regardless of where and for how much you buy. //@anonymous: Although it says ‘State’, that does not include e-filing. So, you’ll end up paying up more later. //@anonymous: Although it says ‘State’, that does not include e-filing. So, you’ll end up paying up more later.

Yes, you have an option to print and mail the State tax returns. However, if you choose to e-file (which TurboTax will offer before the last step of submission) ‘State’, TurboTax will charge at least $25 extra. //@anonymous: Print out and mail it. ~3 shipping fee if that's what you mean "more". //@anonymous: Although it says ‘State’, that does not include e-filing. Yes HR block is very bad. They sell customer info as and no audit support. Also, they ask you hefty fee for state file. It is just a bogus scam!!

H&R block always calculates my state tax wrong. I switched to Turbo tax 2 years ago and haven't had a problem since.

Are you working for TurboTax?
I run two side by side for several years, no real difference //@Anonymous: H&R block always calculates my state tax wrong. I switched to Turbo tax 2 years ago and haven't had a problem since.

As far as I tried in the past couple of years, they gave same results. Give away critical information without legal obligation or charge? Come on, common sense please! //@Anonymous: Yes HR block is very bad. They sell customer info as and no audit support. Also, they ask you hefty fee for state file. It is just a bogus scam!!

I have filed with turbo tax for many years and have been using hrblock. It is cheaper to file tax return with no difference in return.

IRS should have their own tax filing software and everyone can use it for free. Where are tax forms the size of post card?

there is nothing free. What you meant for "free" is actually paid by all the tax payers. Developing a product like TurboTax involves very complicate work flow design, legal, tax analysis, cannot be done by a single or two software developers. That can be done for cheap money. It is unfair for those people who hired an accountant preparing the tax return to chip in. //@Anonymous: IRS should have their own tax filing software and everyone can use it for free. make sure you read the new tax law, you might not need the Deluxe version because it may not be worth do itemized deduction. //@Anonymous: seeing a deal on tax software totally ruined the holidays!
