Yes HR block is very bad. They sell customer info as and no audit support. Also, they ask you hefty fee for state file. It is just a bogus scam!!

H&R block always calculates my state tax wrong. I switched to Turbo tax 2 years ago and haven't had a problem since.

As far as I tried in the past couple of years, they gave same results. Give away critical information without legal obligation or charge? I have filed with turbo tax for many years and have been using hrblock. It is cheaper to file tax return with no difference in return.

IRS should have their own tax filing software and everyone can use it for free. Where are tax forms the size of post card?
Anonymous
there is nothing free. What you meant for "free" is actually paid by all the tax payers. Developing a product like TurboTax involves very complicate work flow design, legal, tax analysis, cannot be done by a single or two software developers. That can be done for cheap money. It is unfair for those people who hired an accountant preparing the tax return to chip in. //@Anonymous: IRS should have their own tax filing software and everyone can use it for free. Good deal if already planning to purchase. Paid $75 last year but that included both State and Federal e-file and this doesn’t appear to. Don’t know what it costs to add Federal e-file but worst case I’ll just print and mail the Federal forms.

Thanks dealsea! Decent price and early.
All the nonsense in the new tax law is applicable to 2018 and after tax years. This software is intended for 2017 and thankfully i can still deduct my full property and state income taxes. Starting next year my taxes (and those of many other middle class folks) will go up. So nobody gives a hoot about the lies that you hear from Faux News or any other nonsensical sources.
