Good deal? Will these be a good choice for my Appalachian Trail through-hike?

I would only wear wool socks if doing some serious hiking. REI has some great ones or even Amazon. They make a huge difference. //@Anonymous: Good deal? Will these be a good choice for my Appalachian Trail through-hike?

I find that wool socks shrink when washed. So I wouldn't feel bad about the 10+ (I'm a 9.5 anyway).
Yes, when hiking I recommend something like this, hot or cold. //@Anonymous: Not sure if these fit small feet? size 10+? //@anonymous: Good deal? Will these be a good choice for my Appalachian Trail through-hike?

I own these, they are ok but not for serious hiking. I'm a landscape and wildlife photographer so I am always out in all conditions and wool socks are far better. These also tend to slide down often after a few months, bothers me. I'm basically about to throw them out.. Hope that helps.

Thanks. That is very helpful. Do you have any particular brands that you do recommend? //@Anonymous: I own these, they are ok but not for serious hiking. I use Smartwool. I have 1 pair of their classic sock and 2 pairs of their heaviest, I think they call it their mountaineer. I also have 2 pairs of darn tough, their standard hiking sock, they work well also. //@Anonymous: Thanks. That is very helpful. Enjoy the snow while you still have some. Really rare these days, and there won't be anymore very soon. //@Anonymous: lol it literally snowed last night in new england wtf you on about //@anonymous: Plus there is no less for it now that global warming is making snow less common. //@Anonymous: Do not buy this item, quality is not good.

I get what you're saying, but I think your time-line is off. If we all live 100 more years then yes, we will probably live to see much less snow. //@anonymous: Enjoy the snow while you still have some. Absolute crap, not worth even lowest price. The material of aluminum tube is paper thin. I bought one, it broke on first attempt at pushing light snow. Returned for replacement, replacement broke at first attempt again.
