25% for me. The main thing is there is no trade in option

No wonder Chase started Apple points redemption early this year … our points are a liability for them. Waiting for reward redemption to hit 50-75%. See below from JPM Annual Report:

Credit card rewards liability
JPMorgan Chase offers credit cards with various rewards programs which allow cardholders to earn rewards points based on their account activity and the terms and conditions of the rewards program. Generally, there are no limits on the points that an eligible cardholder can earn, nor do the points expire, and the points can be redeemed for a variety of rewards, including cash (predominantly in the form of account credits), gift cards and travel. The Firm maintains a rewards liability which represents the estimated cost of rewards points earned and expected to be redeemed by cardholders. The liability is accrued as the cardholder earns the benefit and is reduced when the cardholder redeems points. This liability was $13.2 billion and $11.3 billion at December 31, 2023 and 2022,

Good finding. It’s like reading two chipmunks talking to each other trying to figure out what humans do. Both of you are wrong and are misinterpreting “liability” in the stated context. The “liability” is based on total credit issued across cc products that have rewards tied to spending. It has more to do with spending “rebates” and is a fixed range for share holder reporting purposes. //@anonymous: Good finding. I don't think it is a good deal. The points are worth 25% actually equal 20% off on the iPhone. For iPhone or Apple product, sometime it is easy to find the equivalent deal for 20% off. Example, Holiday or Carrier on sale, or purchase gift cards $100 get $15 additional. However, don't forget the Chase point has another essential value that also purchase air ticket with the same deal as well as 20% off. It is not always that you can find 20% off for the air ticket. I rather spending the points on the air ticket, but not on iPhone or Apple products. //@Anonymous: Even 25% is good deal !

Up to 50% off retail Apple products for select sapphire rewards not a good deal? Get over yourself. It’s a bonus and has nothing to do with if you want to promote Apple or not (which you obviously are trying not to). //@anonymous: I don't think it is a good deal.
