Don't buy this junk. I have two 8TB external drives, which exactly look like the one in picture. Both completely stopped working within 1 year. The typical failure sign is that it took more than 7 days to backup ~1TB of data. I didn't use this junk frequently. I just used the drives for backup.

Yes, it's very dangerous to use this kind of drives, because they are easy to fail, and if you don't have another copy of the backed-up files, you are doomed. If you really want a huge storage, just buy two same hds and RAID them.

Mine is still working after 10 years. I agree if you are serious on the backup, Raid is the water to go. //@anonymous: Yes, it's very dangerous to use this kind of drives, because they are easy to fail, and if you don't have another copy of the backed-up files, you are doomed. I know the external drives are getting cheaper and cheaper per Gigabyte, so is this a good deal for this time period.

so you are paying $18.75 per TB. It isn't a bad price, under $20/TB is a good price but it isn't the cheapest I've seen. I've seen these go for as low as $16/TB. But it is a fair deal, you aren't being robbed, that's for sure. //@Anonymous: I know the external drives are getting cheaper and cheaper per Gigabyte, so is this a good deal for this time period.

i5-9600k is outdated CPU as old model required old motherboard, etc. Should be $100 or so. I would go with AMD CPU if you are smart. Check youtube etc for AMD Ryzen

The Ryzen he's talking about is 4000 series for laptops such as 4500U. It blows Intel 10th gen laptops. This year is not a year to buy Intel based computers. For the same or less money you can get much better performance from AMD based machines //@anonymous: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-i5-9600K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-3600/3337vs3481 //@Anonymous: i5-9600k is outdated CPU as old model required old motherboard, etc. Should be $100 or so.
