I agree if you are serious on the backup, Raid is the water to go. //@anonymous: Yes, it's very dangerous to use this kind of drives, because they are easy to fail, and if you don't have another copy of the backed-up files, you are doomed. If you really want a huge storage, just buy two same hds and RAID them.

Don't buy this junk. I have two 8TB external drives, which exactly look like the one in picture. Both completely stopped working within 1 year. The typical failure sign is that it took more than 7 days to backup ~1TB of data. I didn't use this junk frequently. I just used the drives for backup.
