It really depends, MacOS takes much less space compare to Windows 11. For reference, I have an 2018 MBP, macOS takes 12GB and applications takes 65GB. So if you are not using the laptop for storage purpose, 256G is likely enough.
Obviously we'd rather have 512GB if the price is right.., What I am saying is, while 256 GB is a show-stopper for Windows machine, it may not be so for a Mac //@Anonymous: 256G is too small. iOS, photo and video will take a lot of disk

March 23: I was able to go straight through Walmart AND Target, check out, and was able to place the order. I didn't click the place order button because I don't need two, but just saying that this is a great indicator that finally, after 2 years, Series X is seeing the light of the day.
