Why so many liars here? To promote Maytag?
Look at the customer review on homedepot/Lowes.
(FYI My Samsung washer and drier pair lasted ~9 years) //@Anonymous: Go with Maytag - solid brand and performance for over 5 years now! Stay away from Samsung and LG, horrible motors.

Not motor. It's the casted spider arm that might break and create smoke. Mine failed about a decade. Should be replaced anyway due to molding.

I have an LG front loader, had about 10yrs. No issues with the motor or any mechanical/issues. HOWEVER, I started to have leakage issues. Not a huge one but a slow drip which is annoying. Bought a drip pan and siphoning the excess water out so I can wait for a sale on a replacement.

The Samsung top load washer has been leaving brown residue on the clothes for years. Removed the pulsator and there was brown residue under it and all the way down to the bottom of the washer which you cannot get to to clean. Ran the clean cycle many times, didn't help much.

Had my Samsung front load top of the line washer fixed once and dryer fixed twice since buying 4 years ago. Samsung refrig ice maker twice in same time period. Got the 5 year warranty from HD. If you're buying appliances buy the 5 year warranty. They don't make these things to last //@Anonymous: We have been using Samsung front load washer and dryer for more than 12 years.
