You can add the minutes and data to your existing Sim. Officially you are not supposed to do, but people have been adding to their existing Sim for long time. You are good unless the glitch is fixed

I bought one of each last month ($50ea), the one that you select carrier comes only with that carrier SIM card with the minutes preloaded. The one that doesn’t have to choose carrier options comes with 3 SIM cards, one for ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile, and a scratch-off refill pin. I like the 2nd option better cause I just use the pin on a pre-existing tracfone line.

Paired with iPhone 6 deal from TracFone. Spent 30min with CSR to resolve some technical issues (Phone was Verizon, 1YR SIM was ATT), and voila - An iPhone good for 1 year for less than 100 bucks. Can't beat that !!!!

usually those are stack-able i.e. extends expiration date for 1 yr (can be say 2022) and adds mins etc. can keep your phone# but need to talk to cust service sometimes.

the 5G plan used to only apply to ATT. Now it seems to include all networks. Is it true?
Anonymous
Direct international dialing is not working. You have to dial an access number for international calling,Which is not convenient.

Mint is on TMobile network. RP can be on ATT or Verizon, which has more coverage and reliability. RP also has sprint (now TM) //@Anonymous: Direct international dialing is not working. You have to dial an access number for international calling,Which is not convenient.

can i unlock the phone.

Decent phone, too bad its locked to tracphone
4 years ago |

I looked into it, this has a bootloader lock too, so you can't even root it. Unless you use tracfone, this is pretty useless.

Is it possible to install Linux on this and use it as a NAS?
Anonymous
Or is Plex better?
Anonymous
unlocking bootloader is not hard, but you need to be prepared to not able to use it as a phone any more if bad things happened. worst you can still install linux on it though //@Anonymous: I looked into it, this has a bootloader lock too, so you can't even root it.
