In Gmail, you can add a “+” symbol and any word you want to the end of your email address, and it will still reach your inbox. Was a member 8 months ago. At the last step after credit card info was collected, it says something like "find similar member". No question, what's the consequence if choosing No continue as new? If choosing "Yes, renew" than it sends me to the Sam's login page.

Similar situation here. Found out that you'd need to click on "join" other than "renew" to get the price. You wouldn't see your order history under your old membership, but I recall I did chat with CSR years ago in a similar case and I was able to link my new membership with my old one. //@Anonymous: Was a member 8 months ago. In the recent I see many everyday essential items more expensive in costco compared to Sams. Costco you go and but many attractive non essential things and end up paying minimum $300. When I go to Sam's I focused and buy only essentials. They membership fee is also so expensive in Costco and they never offer discounts like Sams. If you have lot of money to spend go to Costco.

Just an example wild caught Salmon in Costco is 33.99 but same wild caught in Sam's 23.98. It's a $10 price difference. It just not one exceptional item, there are many essential items is very expensive in Costco. They created the Costco fan club over years by offering good things for cheaper price but not anymore, people religiously go to Costco every weekend without comparing the prices. Costco just use the inflation as a justification and increase prices like anything. They only keep the milk price cheap. Some of the items prices are more than doubled. I'm not a person go compare price of each and individual items. Since I got Sam's membership recently I got an opportunity to compared few of the items and I'm really shocked how much Costco is cheating on the prices. //@Anonymous: Is Sam’s Club or Costco better?

I hate the self checkout in both Costco and Sams. Please avoid using self checkout otherwise in a year they will remove all the employee assisted lanes to self checkout like they did it many walmart's. I know Costco/Sams save a lot on that but they don't pay back even a fraction of it by reducing the membership fee or cost of items.

If anyone does a real apples to apples comparison (like cost per pound, cost per unit, etc. of same items), Costco is hands down the best. Also lot more selection and almost always better quality than Sam’s. Anyone whining they spend more is either lacking self control, or feel less choice is helping them :). So just go to your nearest clubs, note down top 10-20 items you frequently buy with full details (like price per pound, or price per X count, etc.), compare price and more importantly quality and decide for yourselves.
