How does one get to the point of thinking not buying something helps improve it? //@anonymous: Stop paying for a 7 years old tech.

Simple, when you pay for crap the company realizes you will keep buying crap. So why spend money to improve products. Even when it came out the tech was old, look at the wifi internet speeds, literally the cheapest thing they could put in it. //@Anonymous: How does one get to the point of thinking not buying something helps improve it? //@anonymous: Stop paying for a 7 years old tech.

Do not buy, this computer is garbage. I bought it for my son for Christmas. The fully charged battery drained in about 30 minutes out of the box. Then it slipped from the couch to the carpet (1 1/2 foot drop) the same day and it completely went dead. I returned it due it being under warranty, but they claimed it was accidental damage and no more warranty. They wanted almost $1400 to repair everything on it. Lucking they cover a one time repair for accidental damage and they still have it after 3 weeks with no update. In other words, this computer is very cheaply made, even at this sale price.

I just a q420 asus and it also seems too fragile, the first one arrived bent. I should have just returned and waited //@anonymous: Do not buy, this computer is garbage. Be aware this is integrate graphic chip, it is not a gaming laptop.
I bought the earlier year model with 5900HS CPU and GTX 3050 graphic chip. It was good.

Bought this model 2 months back, works fine for my purpose… haven’t experienced the quick 30 minute drain problem like one user mentioned, the battery holds a charge long enough for at least 4-5 hours. I did update the BIOS version to latest using the included Asus software though.

Can anyone tell me why one would prefer roku over prime or Netflix or other streaming services? What am I not seeing?

You are confusing between device and service. Roku streaming device is a device which can be used to watch prime video and Netflix. //@anonymous: Can anyone tell me why one would prefer roku over prime or Netflix or other streaming services? What am I not seeing?

This is a streaming device. It does come with free Roku channel, but you can add Netflix, Hulu, CBS, Disney+ and hundreds of other streaming channels services. Or not. It's up to you. The advantage of going with Roku as opposed to Google Chrome, Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV is that those guys have an intense battle going on for market share and they cut each other from their services. Roku stayed out of it so far and it paid off for their customers. //@Anonymous: Can anyone tell me why one would prefer roku over prime or Netflix or other streaming services? What am I not seeing?

Languages supported by Roku are limited, the subtitles and files in Asian languages are showing as squares and I could not find a workaround online. I recently switched to Fire stick and it doesn’t have this issue.

If you're not a hacker, a Roku is better out of the box because Google Play and Apple are available apps by default. //@Anonymous: Thanks! This is what I thought //@anonymous: Fire tv stick 4k. Walmart onn 4k pro is same price with a lot more features. Roku UI is really dated and it just gets laggy after a few years. Onn google TV has remote finder feature and handsfree.. roku needs to get better at its hardware spec.

How laptopt with characteristics like resolution=FHD; cpu=i5; ram=8GB could be considered a gaming laptop assuming that Tetris is not name of game?
