They are designed to die in around a year. I am on my last set, will try another company next time but am afraid that is the modus operandi for these kind of products...

I can confirm. I had two of these and they both lasted less than 2 years. Poor design allows water to leak inside the case causing the internal electronics to get rusted. //@Anonymous: Terrible reviews around durability.
