better than Surface Pro not as good as newer Surface, but good price for a small crappy laptop

03/26/2015 01:32pm By Anonymous

more like RT with the base to me, battery life is the killer

03/26/2015 04:22pm By Anonymous

good battery life, cheap, fast enough, kind of big as a tablet.

03/26/2015 08:28pm By Anonymous

My 6.4 inch cell phone has 1920x1080 pixels, this 10.1 inch one has only 1366x768. Go figure.

03/26/2015 08:47pm By Anonymous

Above, how much is your phone may I ask?

03/26/2015 08:58pm By Anonymous

its less then 300. its xperia z ultra go ebay and check.

03/26/2015 10:19pm By Anonymous

That's exactly 8:47 's point. It's even cheaper than your phone, so has a less resolution is still reasonable.

03/27/2015 06:59pm By Anonymous

Don't buy. Got one the keyboard acts weird, impossible to type, actually it types by itself. No wonder it is cheap. Asus should be taking U out of A$$

03/27/2015 07:04pm By Anonymous

should I say ASUS Puts U right in the middle of A$$

03/27/2015 07:07pm By Anonymous

Bought one new for $330 on 11/2013. For what it is, I love it. 2.2 lbs. all up (1.1 for tablet). Great for travel, conferences, etc.

$200 18 months later? Hao!

Anticipate no problems given you immediately download and install all current drivers, BIOS, etc. from ASUS website. (That should really be your standard practice with any Windows 8.x machine.)

03/27/2015 08:25pm By Anonymous

this is a great machine. 11 hours of battery life for my use. dual screen via micro hdmi port to my 27'' screen. Surprised that it plays AOE3.

great buy if you kids are crying for a tablet, they don't know the difference

03/27/2015 02:56pm By Anonymous

Yes, could be a good toy. My 2 and half years old daughter was so happy to get my old cell phone as her "own" phone. For her, this was a real phone instead of a toy (she knew it's a real phone) and can lighted up and shown numbers and pictures. That's all she care but a lot more fan to pretend to call me. But spend extra money for that, I would not think so.

omg... since when Alienware started selling i3 and pentium...

03/26/2015 09:38pm By Anonymous

alien alpha is one of the better deals with a 860 gpu which can power most demanding games with good frame rates. the cpu is not as important for games as the gpu, and the i3 is fast enough in most situations.

I don't understand why they put 5500u into a game machine. The performance is only about 50% of 4700MQ, which they built in last generation of Y series.

03/03/2015 10:59am By Anonymous

u get what u pay for. for this price, lenovo is still the best.

03/03/2015 11:44am By Anonymous

This T540p has the worst clickpad ever. Also, the overall build quality is only so-so. The Thinkpad badge no longer means anything. People looking for proper business-class laptops should look into the HP EliteBooks, the Dell Precisions, and the Panasonic ToughBooks.

03/03/2015 11:54am By Anonymous

Dont imagine you could get a business laptop at $500. If you need good computers try thinkpad x series

03/03/2015 12:00pm By Anonymous

However, given Lenovos stupidity we are no longer buying new thinkpads (opting to buy slightly used Thinkpads. Too bad lenovo killed thinkpads trying to be Apple or whatever else fanboys are buying these days.

I do not recommend this model at all because the power cable to the hard drive fails very often (once or twice every year) and it's a pain to get it fixed. This is a very common problem to this model.

surface pro 3 prices are going to drop very soon since surface pro 4 are on the way (July 2015?)

03/26/2015 02:33pm By Anonymous

Fantastic deals! I have a Surface Pro 2 and know what this is capable of. If you do not understand why the price is as such, you do not understand the product and/or do not need it. Here's a hint: Surface Pro and a decent smartphone (5" or more) will do EVERYTHING for 99% people, except hardcore high-end gamers. Absolutely NO NEED for a third device for businessmen, students, housewives, and what not.

03/26/2015 02:37pm By Anonymous

Warranty is not an issue if you have proof of purchase. Warranty is directly honored by Microsoft. Register your device under your Microsoft account and you are good to go. If you see warranty less than 12 months, call Microsoft and they will fix it. I have registered and actually used warranty on a Surface Pro device purchased from ebay.

03/26/2015 04:23pm By Anonymous

can i buy two ipads and connect them to make a laptop?

03/26/2015 06:04pm By Anonymous

Since native resolution is very high, the regular browsing using touch functions is not as practical as an ipad. The i7 processor also gets very hot during normal use, for instance when watching a movie. However the mobility, and flexibility of using regular Windows software still makes it a very useful tool.

03/26/2015 08:38pm By Anonymous

It does not matter. It is still Windows and infected malicious spyware, malware and viruses.

03/26/2015 08:59pm By Anonymous

If just like someone above said, most of people didn't realize the "value" of this product. That's sound a failure to me. It's not as good as a notebook if you want use it as notebook. And it's not as good as a pad if you want use it as pad. Then itself have to create a niche market to support enough profit to survive. Which means it has to be pricy.

03/26/2015 11:24pm By Anonymous

8:59 very nice logic and I definitely agree with you

I am not that sure after I changed to MacBook Pro

03/27/2015 02:20pm By Anonymous

Come on. Lenovo's quality has already go down the drain. Loud CPU fan that starts constantly unncecessarily. Poor quality keyboard, poor quality touchpad.

I just bought one and returned it the next day. Even a Dell laptop is 10 times better.

03/27/2015 02:25pm By Anonymous

I agree with 2:20pm.
Even the Thinkpad line does not have the quality
IBM had before.
I recommend Dell.
Hope they are a bit cheaper though.

have a dell laptop for two years. Just after the warranty, the battery was dead, then a couple days ago the whole company became brick completely. Have a lenovo thinkpad, more than 3 years, still very good!

03/27/2015 03:08pm By Anonymous

Looks like Dell hired people to post at deals websites. I use both Dell and Lenovo. Dell PC: functional. Lenovo: elegant. Dell often has hardware compatibility issues. Avoid dell unless you are computer savvy.

03/22/2015 02:55pm By Anonymous

A rich person down here?

03/22/2015 03:23pm By Anonymous

quite the opposite... if you want your pc to fly... you dont need to spend a thousand dollars to get an i7... you just need a cheap multi-core AMD + a "good" video card... you know... you dont need to calculate the reentry trajectory for the space shuttle everyday... a decent video card is the missing link here... :)

03/22/2015 04:33pm By Anonymous

I got a lenovo s8-50 from lenovo outlet. It was $110 and return. They have some now for $116.80. It really good. One prob is screen too bright, so battery dies fast. The lowest screen brightness is probably 40% on the nexus. I never updated it, and it runs smooth. Some people have probs after updating. I put in 64g SD card and never had problems. It not much bigger in size than my nexus, but the screen is 30% bigger.

03/22/2015 07:59pm By Anonymous

smart. have a nice recommendation for you. it is Sapphire HD6970 from newegg. first you should know newer does not mean better. and you should not care about the line code they use. it is fast enough already.

battery runs out fast on this model.

purchase failed, four tries.

03/23/2015 01:03pm By Anonymous

Bad battery!
iPad is much better.

03/24/2015 12:57pm By Anonymous

I had one... it turned into a good paperweight after 13 months of light use - I only used it when I poop. The touch screen went crazy and became unresponsive.

03/24/2015 04:23pm By Anonymous

Mine became unresponsive too Because of lollipop. You need to restart it, and to get it out of a boot loop, just massage the back of nexux where the "nexus" logo is a few times. also keeping the tablet locked in landscape mode reduces the amount of times it becomes unresponsive.

got Tab S for the same price from eBay a while back, NEW, 2500 unit sold. This worths no more than $250 after tax

03/25/2015 11:34am By Anonymous

A good deal. Love the Pro 8.4. The color of Pro is better than S, not over saturated. This is brand new, not "new other". Better screen panel than iPad air 2. Shame apple still call its retina. Anyone try to root, be careful konx issue.

03/25/2015 11:37am By Anonymous

Sorry, should be knox. Try the Google search root without trigger Knox.

Any one finds the difference between Air 1 and 2, except the price?

03/24/2015 11:38am By Anonymous

Air 2 is lighter and thinner than just air plus better processor.

03/24/2015 11:39am By Anonymous

Thinner, Touth ID, and more powerful CPU.

03/24/2015 11:57am By Anonymous

I would thing that the Touth ID may leave too many scratches. But at least it's thinker for smaller mouths.

This is the reason why someone talked about not a deal for ipad air @ $300 + Tax at BB just a week ago.

Yes, this should beat Ipad air 16G for $300 at BB last week.

Looks like this is an excellent deal but you would need to buy the video graphic card for heavy gaming. I want to buy this but a little worry about SuperFish. Anyone care to share? Thanks!

03/24/2015 08:05am By Anonymous

superfish is just a piece of software. Just delete it

03/24/2015 08:12am By Anonymous

Ok i thought so. So why is everyone complaining about it then?

03/24/2015 08:38am By Anonymous

spend the money on a mini-ITX gaming rig. All you need is an I-5, a good GPU (~$300) and SSD.

03/24/2015 08:40am By Anonymous

re 07:59am
You probably need a new PSU, a faster SSD and a video card so not really worth it also this thing weigh a ton.

03/24/2015 08:52am By Anonymous

GPUs are costly, 1GB=$75 2GB=$150, you need to upgrade the power if you go beyond
i5=4Core i7=8Core

03/24/2015 08:58am By Anonymous

Does this case allow a full size PCI video card? Does air flow factor in a full size video card?

03/24/2015 09:00am By Anonymous

@8:40,

You are right. After adding the additional components, GPU and the PSU it is not that much of a deal. The power suppy (psu) that it came with is only 200watts so you cant really play any good games.

03/24/2015 10:28am By Anonymous

a pretty good video card costs around $250, like gtx 760, if you use some cheaper ones it also works. The power supply( 450w--550w) only costs around $50.
It is still a good deal.
SSD doesnot affect your gaming.

03/24/2015 11:21am By Anonymous

The CPU along is 300, motherboard 100 ram 250, hard drive, chasis and win 8.1 is pretty much freebies. PSU is usable for this rig, if you want to upgrade, there are no limit to what they cost. This is probably the best deal you can get on a solid desktop.

03/24/2015 01:09pm By Anonymous

bought one about 3 weeks ago. It cost me $799, but there was a $50 rebate from slickdeal. Contacted Lenovo asking for price match. Waiting for $50 refund.

Final price for me is $699=$799-$50(refund)-$50(rebate).

03/24/2015 01:13pm By Anonymous

Sorry! It cost me $699. So final price is $599

03/24/2015 04:46pm By Anonymous

aftermarket cases aren't that good unless you go over $100
16GB won't cost you more than $150
buying this is a steal, think about time you have to throw to install hardware and software, it is also a pain when something goes wrong

03/24/2015 05:05pm By Anonymous

ppl need to get this right. i7 only is a "quad-core". hyper-threading is not a core. it is a scam.
if you want a gaming-rig, you dont want this one. because of the starting price and the limitation of the power supply. AND the motherboard which does NOT support TWO video cards. you dont really want to buy something really expansive and throw the components away.

AND do NOT get an mini-ITX box. POOR ventilation. a good video card uses 200W+

AND GTX760 only has 1896GFlops for single and 79GFlops for double. it is "too SLOW" for gaming

but at this price.. it is a good deal for general purpose computing.

03/24/2015 05:11pm By Anonymous

if you really want an inexpensive gaming-rig or mining rig, let me know.

03/24/2015 06:06pm By Anonymous

Who buys gaming rig from Lenovo...This is an office PC maker.

HyperThreading is a valid technology, if you understand what it is. Most of superscalar has large amount of unused resources consistently.

03/24/2015 07:36pm By Anonymous

educate me then... HyperThreading is invented way back in the Pentium 4 era. just because its pipeline is TOO long. so they made it interruptible and injectable. you can say all you want but IT IS NOT A CORE!

03/24/2015 08:17pm By Anonymous

very confused... why would anyone buy this then spend more money to upgrade/throw away components? Couldnt you just spend the money and custom build your own. If it's for office purpose why not get a laptop instead?

03/24/2015 11:57pm By Anonymous

I'm not sure who you are arguing against... Not a single person in the list of comment says HT is a core...

03/25/2015 12:21am By Anonymous

Making CPU interrupt-able :))
You don't seem to even understand concept of CPU interruption. 80286 is 'interruptable' :))
As commented before, HT it is based on the superscaler CPU design. SS CPU commonly has multiple branching, ALU and FPU units. They are essentially separate processors for different purposes. Idea of HT is to create additional pipeline path to potentially utilize different ALU and FPU at the same time by adding only about 15% more silicon to the chip.
So, if Pentium was your first chip to have interruption, the what was your computer using before? 68LC050? :))
