Self checkout does not work with e-gift cards at SafeWay //@Anonymous: Not true. At least the self check out machine has an option of scanning QR code. You may need to use the scanning gun though. Much easier to use than before //@anonymous: Using it at Safeway would be a nightmare! No cashier or manager knows how to use it and you can't use it at self checkout as well. Definitely avoid!

I bought 10 of them last year and had no any issues to use them in Albertson's. It's not easy to save 10% for everthing from grocery stores today, anyway.
