How much does ETF charge for holding that paper? //@anonymous: Amen to that //@Anonymous: take this into consideration, if you trying to sell this, you are not going to get the gold price facevalue, might as well just to buy gold etf

Did the price increase? Remember it was sub-$2000 a month ago.

Not including interest and compounding. For the past 5 years, S&P grew 98% vs gold price grew 68%. Stock has higher return.

Stock is better than Gold ETF.
Stock is backed by the underlying company, e.g. Apple. Gold ETF is not backed by gold. //@anonymous: Gold etf is paper, just like stocks //@anonymous: take this into consideration, if you trying to sell this, you are not going to get the gold price facevalue, might as well just to buy gold etf

Not worth buying gold coins. Hassle to store and will not get the same price.
