Moka pot coffee is not espresso indeed, it is extracted at up to 2 bar, whereas espresso needs at least 9 bar. Should I say, sub-espresso? It does hint at espresso, and it can be strong. Gateway drug to be sure.

I would assume you are mistaken about the “chrome” residue since this is aluminum. It’s stamped, low priced, and would appear to just work as it should according to other reviewers. Clean it thoroughly before use is what you could have said. //@andromeda3: I bought this last time and it had peeling chrome residue when you touch the metal.. cheaply made moka pot.. A better one is the Bialetti - made in Italy
