I’ve never tried Apple AirPods but just seeing how many people are comparing them with Sennheiser makes me want to try them.

My wife has one, and I'm using AKG, Sennheiser and Audio Technica headphones for music production. Apple headphones cant be used for music production or for reference sound since apples target audience are regular people with basic needs (bass boosted sound, easy to use and portability).
