It won't damage wood in good condition, but if the wood is dry and flakey or wet and soft, then it might blast some off. It will remove old paint, especially the paint that is already flaking off. //@Anonymous: Thank you for all advices. Will it also remove the old paint from the deck or damage the wood if the pressure exceeds xxx psi?

A gas power pressure washer will clean the deck better. Don’t need to worry about running and electrical cord. //@anonymous: How is this pressure washer working to remove stains from deck?

It works by spraying high pressure water onto the deck stain, washing it off if the stain hasn’t penetrated the wood too deeply. //@anonymous: How is this pressure washer working to remove stains from deck?
