The higher MERV likely the lower life time of the filter if you live in dusty area as the filter gets clogged more easily. //@anonymous: From homedepot "Because of its unique construction, this FPR10 air filter requires less energy consumption which makes it an upgraded solution when comparted to FPR 9 and FPR 7 air filters." //@Anonymous: "It’s important, however, to balance the effectiveness of these filters with the corresponding energy costs. A higher MERV rating means the filter is more restrictive. It removes more contaminants from the air, but it means that your furnace or air conditioner has to work harder to push the air through your home. Using a filter with a higher MERV rating could mean that your HVAC system runs longer than it would with a filter with a lower MERV rating." //@Anonymous: LOL, MERV rating does not indicate airflow at all //@Anonymous: These are MERV 13 and might mess up your system if you have it running continuously.

Nonsense, higher rated filters have more pleats than the lower rated ones so many of them actually have lower a pressure drop //@Anonymous: These are MERV 13 and might mess up your system if you have it running continuously.
