I have the previous generation. It works well.

I bought one last time, it works fine most of the times.

For less than $20, I'd give it a try. //@Anonymous: This thing is awesome. You can open your garage from remote, or without the door opener. You can get notifications when you garage opens/closes (uses a wireless sensor that you attach to the garage). When I bought it I thought I'd use it a few times per year but I use it all the time, mostly for going for walks/bike rides and being able to leave out the garage without taking a physical door opener control with me. It's also just nice to know that you closed your garage for those times when you can't remember if you did before leaving.

Not good. Dropped off Wi-Fi most of the time. Even with Google fiber mesh. Clearly a device issue.
