I just got both the TI-84 and TI-Nspire CX II calculators and compared them. The TI-Nspire CX II is super powerful and user friendly. It's a bit pricey, but totally worth every penny.

Because TI colludes with the math testing and textbook industry to make sure only TI calculators are used in instruction and testing. Like it or not, that’s how it is and how it’s been for decades. //@anonymous: How are they still getting 100 bucks for these dinosaurs?

Not better if a kid’s math teacher won’t let them use it in class. //@jduan: Overpriced. Casio FX-CG50 is way better.
