From google: "industry experts recommend having both photoelectric and ionization alarms for optimal protection against flaming and smoldering fires".
Are you suggesting to buy photoelectric and ionization alarms separately, instead of buy those with both photoelectric and ionization? //@Anonymous: I installed four photoelectric + ionization detectors. They all started failing with random false alarms within a few years.
Switched them to photoelectric models; my existing photoelectric only ones never gave a false alarm. //@Anonymous: I would say the model with both ionization sensor and photoelectrical sensor will be better, just too expensive ($40+)

smoke + CO detector usually cost $30

so I installed 5 smoke detectors and 2 smoke+CO detectors at home. //@Anonymous: Why do people buy smoke detector? Would it be better to buy a detector w carbonmonixide and smoke?

If you don't have gas in your house, do you need a CO detector? //@Anonymous: Why do people buy smoke detector? Would it be better to buy a detector w carbonmonixide and smoke?

did you read the reviews? seems it's fake, not really from First Alert.

also, it's Ionization sensor and battery powered. The one on dealsea is hardwired with battery back up and photoelectrical sensor.

The one on dealsea is better. //@Anonymous: spend 5$ more and get a lithium battery one, it will save you tons of trouble.
