This may sound crazy but on black Friday my wife and daughters go shopping while the boys and i winterize our gas motors and replace all batteries in smoke alarms and flashlights. Then we play video games.

Then buy a 10-year shelf time batteries, and leave them sealed and set next to the flashlight. Problem solved. //@Anonymous: They say virtually indestructible, but that's not my problem.
