Fire tablets are not designed to compete with productivity geared devices like iPads and Chromebooks, nor should anyone expect them to given their price point. However, I would argue that they excel as casual media consumption tablets (reading, light web browsing, videos, and games). Nothing else comes close to these for the price except for the Galaxy Tab A series. Those who are after shear speed and multitasking capabilities will be better served by an iPad or Chromebook. //@Anonymous: removing bloated software won't solve slow hardware. my kids use it to read elementary books but it takes few seconds or it gets stuck. if you like to wait painfully to save a little money, this one is for you //@anonymous: This is a great tablet for the price. I suggest using the Amazon Fire Toolbox (free to download via XDA) to remove all Amazon bloatware, lock screen adds, install the Google Play Store, and Nova Launcher. 10 minutes of tinkering gets you an experience close to stock Android for 100 bucks.

True! Agreed.
It is very strange, Amazon wants to build its brand tablet, but gives a garbage solution, it ruins its own brand. //@Anonymous: have one . very slow to load anything. useless
