Is there a monthly fee just to use the device?

By anonymous on 01/17/2023, 06:08 AM EST
Why would anyone want to do that? //@Anonymous: You cannot install apk to Roku...

Google it //@anonymous: What is the difference between Roku Premiere and Ultra?

By anonymous on 12/27/2022, 06:48 PM EST
You can browse the internet using Roku. Just use your phone to mirror right to the roku device. No need to rely on the streaming device's crappy hardware. You can use your phone as a roku remote as well. That's why Roku is superior to fire sticks. //@anonymous: You cannot install apk to Roku, not like Fire TV stick. If you want to watch Chinese website contents, don't buy Roku. //@Anonymous: Yes it does just have to download the app, I use it on mine //@Anonymous: Thanks but does it have YouTube TV? There was a time every smart TV has YouTube but few of them were supportive to YouTube TV. //@anonymous: This device does have YouTube channel (app). I am using it. //@Anonymous: To whom who has it: Does it have YouTube TV pre-installed?

Private listening works from Roku app now - no need of headphone jack on remote. //@Anonymous: I will definitely get a Roku with a remote headphone jack. So useful and I can't image use Roku without it. //@Anonymous: If you have kids sleep in your room or a connected room, private listen helps a lot. //@anonymous: Private listen means a headphone jack on the remote. Some Roke remote control has this headphone jack where you can plug in a headphone. So you can listen and watch movies without disturbing other people. //@Anonymous: What is private listen?
//@anonymous: The remote doesn't have private listening, but you can use a cellphone app to do that. I don't know any other streaming device can do this. It's not relied on Bluetooth.

Please do not spread rumors. The fight is resolved. YouTube and YouTube TV are back in Roku. Roku has the best and clean interface //@anonymous: No YouTube tv anymore. It sucks //@anonymous: To whom who has it: Does it have YouTube TV pre-installed?

You don't know what you are talking about. It is totally different than cell phone. //@Anonymous: Roku only has 1.5gb RAM or less which is worse than any cell phone in the market. Imagine you stream Amazon Blu-ray show. There is no space to buffer either. Absolutely junk.

By anonymous on 02/14/2021, 05:55 AM EST
YMMV - Target has this on sale for $24.99 as well

By anonymous on 11/20/2020, 02:40 AM EST
1.5GB ram is plenty as long as there isn't a junk OS running (Android/Windows) //@Anonymous: Roku only has 1.5gb RAM or less which is worse than any cell phone in the market. Imagine you stream Amazon Blu-ray show. There is no space to buffer either. Absolutely junk.

no power button on remote

By anonymous on 10/18/2020, 01:28 AM EDT
$27 cannot even buy a decent processor. People wake up. This thing craches all the time. Don't get fooled by Roku.

By anonymous on 10/15/2020, 08:45 PM EDT
I will say a volume button would’ve been nice, other than that all good. Just i notice that it can turn off your tv and hitting the home or whatever turns your tv on, but it would just be cool if it could control your TVs volume without the two remotes. I have a Samsung 4K tv so i already have these 4K apps but chose this because of the fact that Samsung won’t get Apple TV app since we have the year free or whats left with our phones then it’s 5 a month. Roku finally got the deal with Peacock might have to check it out since it’s free just too many tv shows too little time but for movies it’s cool i guess. Ummm i know Roku doesn’t have hbo max last i knew but my Samsung tv does. The tv doesn’t have a lot of memory space and forced junk apps on us we can’t delete... my tv is 2017 model so it had Disney plus and YouTube tv and hbo max added but no Apple TV unless you have either w 2018/2019 or newer...

I actually paid $30 free ship on eBay there’s a ton otherwise $27 isn’t bad since they triggers free ship. At one point i thought Amazon’s free stocks as $50... so yeah i watched a listing on eBay and it was $33-$34 then the seller just offered me $30 I’m like okay then cause they were $40 at Target... just a way to access apps not on the tv too and our living room and another bedroom are Roku TVs (tcl and sharp).

Newer TVs come with Bluetooth connectivity so you can use wireless headphones. Check your TV!

The firetv interface is a turn off point to some consumers. The interface is extreme busy, packed with many junks that you can't clear nor remove. //@anonymous: why not firetv 4k, a much better HW.

yes allow stream in your windows media and it will pick up supported files in your pc library folder; videos, pictures, music, etc. //@Anonymous: can this stream videos on my home network/computers WITHOUT having to fiddle with installing Codi or Plex?
