Others use Bluetooth which is different. With Roku I can use an audio splitter plug to my phone to connect to two pairs of earplugs, which you can't do with Bluetooth. //@anonymous: All has similar feature. //@anonymous: Roku private listening is the most useful feature.

$20 Xiaomi Mibox S android tv from woot is cheaper and more extensible //@anonymous: We it depends. I like firetv because of flexibility to install apk files. That opens many free online stuff in firetv //@anonymous: Looks cool. We have Roku and Apple TV in our home. I think AppleTV is the best of all the solutions we tried, just a bit pricier than the competition. FireTV is the cheapest and my least favorite. Haven't tried the Google solution. Xfinity gives away "flex" for free to their customers, very similar to this product.
